Afro House is a sub-genre of House music, with its roots predominantly in South Africa.
A fusion of Kwaito, Tribal, Deep and Soulful House in South Africa it is classed as Deep House or Soulful House,
although it has its own unique sound.
Amapiano, the word being used to describe what’s currently South Africa’s fastest-growing electronic-music movement,
belies the supposed inclusivity of having an isiZulu plural article (ama) conjoined with an English noun (~piano).
Gqom is a genre of electronic dance music that emerged in the early 2010s from Durban, South Africa. It developed out of South African house music, kwaito techno.
Unlike other South African electronic music, gqom is typified byminimal, raw and repetitive sound with heavy bass beats but without the four-on-the-floor rhythm pattern
